Project Partners

The project is carried out with a strong partnership structure aimed at the effective management of forest ecosystem services and increasing the capacity for climate change adaptation.

Istanbul Regional Directorate of Forestry (İOBM):

As the main implementer and coordinator of the project, İOBM manages the general management and implementation processes. In addition to administrative and financial tasks, İOBM is responsible for organizing activities, preparing meeting and workshop reports, and establishing communication networks with stakeholders.

Nature Conservation Centre (DKM):

DKM supports İOBM by conducting spatial analyses and assessments within the scope of the project. It also contributes to the development of training programs, capacity-building activities, and awareness-raising initiatives.

International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN-UA):

IUCN-UA transfers its international experience to the project. Providing support in preparing the content of training and capacity-building activities, IUCN-UA also leads the organization of international technical visits. It ensures the sharing of results on appropriate platforms to increase the visibility of project outputs at the EU and global levels.

Chamber of Forest Engineers (OMO):

As an important supporter of the project, OMO identifies the beneficiaries of training and capacity-building activities and contributes to the dissemination of project results to wider audiences. It disseminates project outputs (guidelines, tools, and information materials) through a wide network, sharing them with the sector.

Project Team:

The project is carried out under the guidance of a Steering Committee consisting of representatives from the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Forestry (OGM), Istanbul Regional Directorate of Forestry (İOBM), Nature Conservation Centre (DKM), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and Chamber of Forest Engineers (OMO). While the strategic decisions of the project are shaped by the Steering Committee, which brings together the know-how of relevant stakeholders, the implementation of activities is carried out and monitored by an experienced team of experts. The diagram below details the key actors forming the project team and the functioning of the steering mechanism.
